Health and Safety Policy

Overall Responsibility

Our policy is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment, and systems of work for all our employees, and to provide such information, training, and supervision as they need for this purpose.  We also accept our responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities.  The allocation of duties for safety matters and the particular arrangements which we will make to implement the policy are set out below.

  • Overall Responsibility

The Managing Director, Mark Dealtry has overall responsibility for health and safety within the business, including ensuring this policy is implemented and reviewed.

  • Employee Responsibility

All employees have a duty to take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work. Employees are expected to co-operate with management and report any hazards or accidents immediately.

  • Display Screen Equipment (DSE)

As an IT business, DSE is our primary risk. We will provide all staff with appropriate workstations, chairs, and peripherals; conduct DSE assessments for regular computer users; provide free eye and eyesight tests for DSE users upon request, and contribute to the cost of basic corrective glasses if required specifically for DSE use.

  • Working from Home & Remote Working

For staff working from home or at client sites, employees are responsible for maintaining a safe, clutter-free workstation at home.  We will provide necessary ergonomic equipment (laptops, external monitors, stands).  Employees must report any safety concerns in their remote workspaces.

  • Accident and Incident Reporting

All accidents, injuries, and "near-misses" must be logged in the company accident book.  We will report any serious accidents, diseases, or dangerous occurrences to the HSE RIDDOR portal as legally required.

  • First Aid

A basic first-aid kit is kept at our primary office location.  For remote workers or small teams, staff are encouraged to keep personal first-aid items while traveling.

  • Fire Safety and Emergencies (for Office-Based Staff)

Clear fire evacuation procedures and escape routes are displayed at the main office.  Fire alarms are tested monthly and extinguishers are inspected annually.

  • Electrical Equipment

All portable IT equipment (laptops, chargers, monitors) will be visually inspected regularly to ensure cables and plugs are undamaged.  Where required, portable appliance testing (PAT) will be carried out by a competent person.
